Heartland Church of the Nazarene began when hometown son Gary Garrett was called to plant a church in Fulton, Missouri, nearly 40 years ago. We first met in a chapel on the campus of William Woods University. The space was small, but so were we. Eventually, God blessed the work of the church, and we outgrew that small chapel. Soon we were able to purchase our current facility located on Mokane Road just north of Tennyson Ave in Fulton.
Pastor Gary was faithful to the Heartland Church, and under his leadership, the church continued to thrive with many in our community, finding a place they could call home. In fact, you’ll find the phrase, “Welcome Home” above the entrance to our Sanctuary. It serves as a reminder that no matter who you are or where you have come from, you can find a home here. We strive to offer the same loving hospitality that we have received from God to all those we meet.
Several years ago, Pastor Gary retired after over 30 years of service to the Heartland Church. Even though Pastor Gary no longer leads us, we continue to strive to be a place that people can call home. As we approach our 40th anniversary, we are confident that God will continue to use us to serve the good people of Fulton, Missouri.
